The brand was borne from his disappointment in the lackluster offerings in the vodka category. Less than 1% of American vodkas use potatoes, and Hard Cut distills ours with pure Rocky Mountain spring water. That and our unique distilling process gives this vodka it’s strength, smoothness, and character. Bold enough to make a statement in a cocktail, smooth enough to enjoy on its own.

Production Notes

Hard Cut Vodka is distilled from American-grown Idaho russet potatoes, one of the most expensive bases to make vodka from, as well as one of the most traditional.

The mash is long-fermented for up to five days (fermentation is usually just 48 hours for grain vodkas) to create maximum flavour and Hard Cut’s signature balanced smoothness.

After careful distillation in a state-of-the-art column still, the distillate is blended with Snake River aquifer water and bottled at Hard Cut Vodka’s muscular abv of 45% (90 proof). 

TASTING Notes

Appearance: Crystal-clear, diamond-like clarity.

Palate: Rich mouthfeel revealing a palate of luxuriant creaminess, more pronounced crisp green apple, with hints of fennel bulb, roasted potato and butterscotch. 

Nose: Clean condition, muscular intensity, characteristics of rich, raw milk, hints of apple and quince, faint notes of fennel-anise and caramel. 

Finish: Lengthy, satisfying finish with roundness departing, leaving a lingering note of balanced alcohol.
